THE NORTHEAST HUSKIES WELCOME YOU!

Home of the UConn Huskies

Welcome to the home of the Northeast Huskies!

Affiliated with the UConn Huskies, we are a non-profit youth hockey association offering programs for children ages 3-18 years old.  Programs include travel teams from the Mite through Midget level, and a TYKES (Teaching Young Kids the Essentials of Skating) program.  The Northeast Huskies skate at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum on the UConn campus, where the Men's and Women's hockey teams skate.  The Northeast Huskies not only offer in season general skills clinics as well as goalie clinics that are hosted by the UConn Men's and Women's hockey teams but we have a wealth of talented coaches!

If you have a future hockey star in your family and want to learn more about our program, please click on the Learn to Play tab.

No prior skating experience is necessary for TYKES

Come check out our climate controlled rink at UConn and join us for some quality hockey!

Gateway Hardware Equipment Fitting

Come get your equipment fitting on Tuesday 8/29 & Wednesday 8/31 from 5pm-9pm at the Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum on the UConn campus Gateway Hardware will be available to fit your player in new gear they may need.  Tom has been a reliable hockey equipment vendor many of us have used and have been very happy with.  We asked him to come back to the rink before the season to help more of our players to get the right fit before the season starts.  His TAT for equipment is great!
